I just can’t believe that I’ve missed Damien Rice’s album “O” back in 2003… Sure I listened to “The Blower’s Daughter” and “Cannonball” (amazing songs!), but believe it or not, the whole album keeps up to that standard.
If you don’t know this album/singer, do yourself a favour and and buy it/download it!
More info about him on All Music and the fan site Eskimo Friends.
Even CNN recommends him:
”Unplayed Piano,” Damien Rice and Lisa Hannigan The best reason to get this lovely track (on iTunes): Proceeds will benefit Nobel winner Aung San Suu Kyi
What am I currently doing:
Little by little I’m finding portuguese podcasters: http://blitzkrieg-bop.blogspot.com/ and http://radio-logia.blogspot.com/ seem to be very well known.
Abroad, the podcast scene has a new develpment with Odeo.com.
Its tagline is “Explore the World of Podcasting: Play, Download, and Create MP3s about Interesting Things” and I think it is a good description.
You can read a review of this service here:
Finding podcasts to listen to is a breeze: shows can be tagged, commented on by other uses (think Flickr here), individual podcasts (called “shows”) can be added to your queue to check if this podcast feed (called “channel”) is worth it, and subscribing to channels is a one click process. This is how you find podcasts. You then have to download the Odeo Syncr (a one-time download) which checks your queue when you tell it to, and downloads the podcasts to your computer.
I invite you to visit my new “My Radio” section (now powered by XSPF Web Music Player) where you can listen to Amália Rodrigues - Uma Casa Portuguesa. Portugal page where you can listen to Amália Rodrigues and other portuguese music.
From now on, you can listen to all kinds of portuguese music on “My Radio”: Fado, pop, rock, tecno…
Updates will be made weekly.
Hope you like it!
