If you are a TMN (major portuguese cell phone company) customer, you’ll receive a credit in you cellphone soon.
It seems that they started charging the calls with 21% VAT sooner than legally allowed, and are now compensating their customers for it.
My sim card was credited with €0,52.
Another flaw of the company is with the Walkie-Talkie/Push to Talk technology. Vodafone and Optimus have their offers on the market, and still no sign of TMN’s plans in this field..
Shame on you.

Bem… TMN para mim já acabou rede4 já rula por estes lados… Quanto ao PTT se não me falha a memoria a TMN entregou equipamentos a várias corporações de bombeiros para testarem o serviço, ao mesmo tempo que servem a comunidade…
No, Vitor, this time TMN did nothing wrong. What they are doing is leveling the acquisition potential of the balance you had when the VAT raised. I, thereby, assume you had a balance of €30.94 at “zero hundred hours” on July 1st.
What happens is that, when you put (for example) €25 onto your balance BEFORE July 1st, you are buying ‘n’ minutes of calls. The prices raised and, if the VAT difference wasn’t credited to you, yu would have been stolen aprox. 1.65% of the credit you bought.
By the way, Vodafone did the same.
Thanks JC, that makes a lot more sense!
Unfortunatly I wrote what the gentleman from TMN call support told me…
@TMN CEO: Wouldn’t it be nice to have competent workers in your company!?!
@JC: Obrigado pelo esclarecimento, quando recebi a mensagem fiquei um pouco confuso admito.
