Problems… Not anymore

I’m having some problems with spam on my weblog. Expect a debrief of it later tonight.
All done! It took me a couple of hours but finally I got my blog rid of spam comments/trackbacks. The best anti-spam plugin is Spam Karma 2 (thanks for the tip Pedro) but in order to delete the massive list of spam (over 2300) I had to use other methods (phpmyadmin).

A very useful plugin (that should be on the default package of WordPress) is the Paged Comment Editing, that allows you to see all comments, marked as spam or not, and easily delet them. Something that I couldn’t do from the standard admin console of WP.

From now on my website will have no anti-spam plugin other than the “Auto Shutoff Comments” for all posts older than 11 days. Also, the trackbacks are disabled.
Strong measures that I hope you understand as I have no time to waste moderating comments.

Lets see for how long these measures are efficient.

    Já experimentaste a versão 2.0 (pre alpha) do SpamKarma ?
    Estou a receber uma média de 500 por dia e até agora não passou nenhum :lol:

    Em complemento do meu cometário anterior… eu deveria ter feito referência ao Page Comment Editing porque há muito utilizo os dois em conjunto, mesmo com versões anteriores do SpamKarma.
