Best Customer Support

Posted: January 20th, 2005 | Author: Vitor | Filed under: Internet, Websites | No Comments »

cdwowIt all started when the portuguese dvd forum DVDMania wrote a “Portuguese Consumers Petition” email to CDWOW (online dvd store) stating that:

Due to recent changes of your policies (CD Wow! now sends CDs and DVDs from Singapore, a non-EU territory), your faithful Portuguese clients are not happy to have to pay the extra custom taxes that may be charged to their orders (and which could be avoided altogether if the shipment was made from within the EU).

Few days later, as you can read in this topic (in portuguese), they (CDWOW) solved the problem and even bothered to write a message on the forum:

Hi

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has written to me regarding this petition. I have been inundated and so thought I would subscribe to this forum and post a message to let everyone know what we’re doing.

We do listen to what our customers have to say and we are sorry that you are incurring such charges.

Please rest assured that we are working very closely with our shipping agents in order to find an alternative shipping route so that you can continue to shop at CD WOW! without incurring any import duty.

As soon as I receive more news I’ll let you know.

Best regards

This is what I call a good customer support!

Baby Sign Language

Ok, I admit that it has nothing to do with my usual subjects but this article from Eric Meyer “Signs of Intelligence” deserves your attention if, sooner or later, you’re going to be a father/mother.
I stumbled in the article via Photomatt but heard it the first time on “Meet The Fockers” movie.

p.s. More than 500 visits yesterday and still no comments about Portugal (read post below)…

Your Opinion about Portugal

Posted: January 17th, 2005 | Author: Vitor | Filed under: Portugal | No Comments »

I know you’re a busy person and don’t like to post comments on this website, but still I would like to ask you a favour: when you have the time, please leave a comment stating what do you think or know about Portugal.
The purpose is for me to evaluate your (my visitors) perspective about my country.
Don’t by shy or ashemed for not knowing that Portugal even exists.
Write what you think.
Thanks in advance. I’ll check the answers (if any) on thursday after my mind-screwing-Corporate-Finance exam.

Color Sheme

For my next blog layout I’ll use this nice Color schemes generator as I’m no “natural-born designer” like Michael Moncur from The Javascript Weblog where I’ve stolen the link.
I specially like the “population’s type of vision” option! Guess i’m one of the part of the 85% people with Normal Vision.

Peer to Email

Peer2MailA new program is making waves on the underground web: Peer2Mail. What is it? Well, the official description says it all:

Peer2Mail is the first software that let you store and share files on any web-mail account. If you have a web mail account with large storage space, you can use P2M to store files on it. Web-mail providers such as Gmail (Google Mail), Walla!, Yahoo and more, provide storage space that ranges from 100MB to 3GB.
P2M splits the file you want to share/store zips and encrypts it. P2M then sends the file segments one by one to your account. Once P2M uploaded all file segments, you can download them and use P2M to merge the segments back to the original file.
Peer2Mail is 100% FREE.

For your information this a growing method of divx exchange. Not that I use it, of course…
